Islamic festivals Eid al Fitr and Eid al Adha are celebrated in October and December. The holiday lasts three days for celebrating Eid al Fitr at the end of Ramadan
It depends upon the official sighting of the moon. The meaning of Eid al Adha is ‘Feast of the sacrifice’. It marks the end of the annual pilgrimage to Mecca. There is a mansoon festival called Khareef festival. This festival is held at Salalah in each year from July 15 to the end of August. The main attractions are music and dance performances like Zanooj dance from different regions of Oman, the exhibition cum sale of Omani handicrafts and sport events etc.
In January and February Muscat Municipality organizes Muscat Festival for boosting tourism and exhibiting Oman’s vibrant history culture. It is a 22 day event which include Traditional dances, camel races, concerts, sporting and educational events, and various activities for adults and children.
